Alex M. Bustillo is a Cuban-American graphic designer residing in France. He was born in Miami, Florida and has lived in the US, Puerto Rico, Latin America, Italy and France.
Alex treats photographic images as paintings across a wide variety of topics. He is interested in music, writing, and European travel, architecture and history as the subject of his work. Alex is interested in Modernist and Postmodernist writers, artists and musicians. Alex likes to create Imaginary Portraits of his preferred subjects. Sometimes these Imaginary Portraits extend or contradict the reading a particular subject has created or been given. Alex is an autodidact having begun his work as a hobby and this gives his work a specific visual signature which incorporates different cultural and technical influences.
