Farid Mahiout, né en 1972 à Ain El Hammam–Tizi Ouzou (Kabylie), est un auteur, poète et journaliste algérien, titulaire d’une licence en sciences de l\\\'information et de la communication, obtenue à l\\\'université d\\\'Alger. Il a exercé la fonction de journaliste correspondant dans plusieurs journaux francophones et à son actif plusieurs travaux de création littéraire et cinématographique.il a publié son premier recueil de poésie: \\\"tassa ou la mort\\\" chez les éditions publibook, paris France et un deuxième,intitulé \\\"la nuit de mes souvenirs\\\" chez le même éditeur.
